The Dept. of Earth Sciences (DES), IISER Kolkata is looking for bright and motivated students, who have completed their M.Sc./MS/M.Sc. Tech /M. Tech (with minimum of 55% marks) in:
(i) Geology/Applied Geology/Geophysics/Earth Sciences/Marine geology/ any other branch of Geological sciences (or);

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Wednesday issued a notification announcing examination dates and procedure for filling up 440 engineering positions in various departments of the central government.
The notification for the 2017 Engineering Services Examination was posted on the commission’s Official Website .  UPSC to conduct Engineering Services Examination 2017 in January, 2017. 
Approximately 440 posts in 1) Civil Engineering 2) Mechanical Engineering 3) Electrical Engineering 4) Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering categories would be filled through the examination.
The last date to apply for the examination is October 26.

  • Candidates must write the papers in their own hand
  • Deduction upto five per cent of the maximum marks for the written papers will be made for illegible handwriting
  • Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour shall be permitted for the blind candidates and candidates with Locomotor Disability and Cerebral Palsy
  • Marks will not be allotted for mere superficial knowledge
  • In the question papers, wherever required, SI units will be used
  • Candidates should use only international form of Indian numerals (e.g., 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc.) while answering question papers
  • Candidates are permitted to bring and use battery operated pocket calculators for conventional (essay) type papers only
  • It is also important to note that candidates are not permitted to use calculators for answering objective type papers

Selection process:
The Engineering Services Examination will be conducted in three stages: 1) The preliminary 2) The Main 3) The Personality Test. The preliminary examination will be held tentatively on January 8, 2017 at various centres across the country (see details in the notification below). There will be negative marking for wrong answers by a candidate in the objective type question papers.
Candidates will be required to choose their preferred examination centre while applying. The commission will allot the centre on first-come-first-serve basis. (Applicants should note that there will be a ceiling on the number of candidates allotted to each of the centre except Chennai, Delhi, Dispur, Kolkata and Nagpur.)
Test centers:-

Candidates shall be issued an e-admission certificate three weeks before the commencement of the examination and will be available on the official website .

DEE Assam Assistant Teacher Vacancies Exam 2016, selection procedure : Applicants who have applied for DEE School Teacher job will be shortlisted based on the performance of the candidates in the following rounds. The Directorate of Elementary Education will conduct the tests on tentative Schedule.

This Directorate is responsible for administration control, development and expansion, inspection, supervision, monitoring and evaluation of Elementary Education in Assam. The services of all Sub-divisional Education Officers (Deputy Inspector of Schools) and other subordinate inspecting officers (Sub-Inspector and Assistant Sub-Inspector of Schools) all over the state have been placed under this Directorate. All Junior Basic Training Centre (22 Nos.), which train-up the Primary School Teachers and all Normal Training Schools (7 Nos.) which train-up the Middle School Teachers have also been brought under the Directorate, including the Basic Training College at Titabor, which also train-up Middle School teachers.
